Lamanai:
On leaving the island at 7 am, we drive over to the mainland where we will be going up the Northern River enjoying a scenic view of the flora and fauna this river has to offer. Our first stop is at the banks of the Northern River lagoon, where the little village of Bomba is located. Here you will be able to shop for some beautiful handmade carvings made from the natural hardwoods found in our jungles.

We will then be taking a van ride through the rural areas of Belize to the village of Tower Hill. Once there, we'll take a 31-mile jungle wildlife river tour (by boat) to the Mayan Ruins of Lamanai, which is situated on the banks of the New River Lagoon. At the archaeological site of Lamanai, our knowledgeable guide will be giving you a tour of the museum where some of the artifacts found at the site are kept.

Afterward, we'll take a walk to the Mayan Ruins and you will be able to climb some of them to better enjoy the spectacular view of the jungle around! You will also be able to see the Howler Monkeys and an abundance of bird life on the tree canopies. Following this grand tour, we'll take a lunch break and then it's back to the boat, heading for home.

It's a wildlife jungle adventure to remember!

Altun Ha:
On leaving the island at 7 am, we drive over to the mainland where we will be going up the Northern River enjoying a scenic view of the flora and fauna this river has to offer. Our first stop is at the banks of the Northern River lagoon, where the little village of Bomba is located. Here you will be able to shop around for some beautiful handmade carvings made out of some of our natural hardwoods found in our jungles.

We will then take a 40-minute ride on the old Pan American highway through the rural areas of the country to the most popular archaeological site in Belize, Altun Ha (roughly translated, Rock Stone Pond). It is a small archaeological site, consisting of eight Mayan temples, but it is very rich in its history, since it was a very important trading center connecting the major Mayan cities. This is where the largest Mayan Jade head, dedicated to the Mayan Sun God, Kinich Ahau, was found. Our guide will be giving you a tour of the place with enough time to climb some of the ruins and take pictures.

Then we'll be going for a restaurant lunch at the famous Maruba Resort Jungle Spa ®. After lunch, you can cool off in their beautiful swimming pool or get pampered with one of their famous jungle herbal body wraps, mud baths or body massages.

After all this fun, we'll have to head back to the boat and back home!
